Allies of Infinity
Allies of Infinity entlehnt seine Akkordfolge dem Intro eines alten Gipsy-Jazz-Standards namens „Made for Wesley“ und ist das Ergebnis des Versuchs, einen Alternative-Rock-Song zu kreieren, der fantastisch und gewaltig klingt. Obwohl der Song eine eher konservative Instrumentierung ohne Synthesizer oder digitale Effekte verwendet, ist der Stil von Allies of Infinity frisch und doch nostalgisch. Die Texte bedeuten nichts. Sie wurden nur geschrieben, um so episch wie möglich zu klingen, ohne eine tiefere Bedeutung zu vermitteln. Sie erfüllen einfach ihren Zweck, was für uns untypisch ist, da unser Songwriting hauptsächlich von persönlichen Erfahrungen geprägt ist.

C’mon miss the shit out of me ist ein Versuch, Emotionen auf kindliche und nachvollziehbare Weise zu verarbeiten. Der Song begann als Solowerk unseres Sängers Peter Planker. Nachdem er ihn zur Probe mitgebracht hatte, wurde ihm schnell klar, dass die Jungs eine Vision für diesen Song hatten. Eine Vision, die sich in einem sich ständig wiederholenden Mantra im gesamten Refrain, einem herausragenden Gitarrensolo von Clemens Niederegger und einer schmutzigen, aber sentimentalen Instrumentierung manifestierte. Obwohl der Song ursprünglich viele komplexe Harmonien enthielt, war das Endprodukt ein einfacher Vier-Akkord-Song mit einigen Wendungen. Dieser Song ist der erste, der explizite Sprache und Rap verwendet. Das Ergebnis war eine eher pop-artige Single mit Texten, die brutal ehrlich sind.

Changing Yourself
„Changing Yourself“ war das allererste Lied, das wir zusammen geschrieben haben. Nachdem wir es live gespielt hatten, nahm der FOH-Mann die Performance auf eine Festplatte auf und sagte uns, dass er mit uns arbeiten wollte. Wir wussten nicht, dass das Lied brauchbar war, denn wir komponierten es als Teenager und spielten es nur, wenn uns die Lieder ausgingen. Derselbe Produzent, Rin99er, ist bis heute bei uns. Wir haben die Live-Version 2022 veröffentlicht, drei Jahre nachdem sie geschrieben wurde. Die Studioversion war ein Jahr lang in der Entwicklungshölle und wir sind sehr stolz darauf. Der Text ist oberflächlich und ein bisschen unbeholfen – wie man es von einem Lied erwarten kann, das von Teenagern geschrieben wurde. Die Single ist die einfachste aus unserem Repertoire, aber sie ist produziert wie nichts anderes, was wir je aufgenommen haben.
